Luciano Pavarotti returns to Llangollen in 1995

The Choir from Modena won the Male Voice Choir Competition at the
1955 International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen and a young Luciano
Pavarotti was a member of that choir together with his father Fernando.
It is widely reported that it was a turning point in his life. He changed
direction from a student Teacher to Music Student and his success
as an Operatic Tenor is well known. The 1955 Modena Choir were hosted
by Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir members
and Luciano and Fernando Pavarottii lodged with Alice Griffiths in Froncysyllte.
Both her sons, Travis and Vincent were members of the choir.
The Modena Choir were again hosted by the Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir
during their visit with Pavarotti in 1995
